Joel White

Joel has served as the Executive Officer of the Spokane Home Builders Association for the past 19 years. He has been recognized as a leader in the construction industry on the local level and was named the Executive Officer of the Year in 2020 by the National Association of Home Builders.  Locally, he has served on the Board of the Spokane Workforce Development Council, the Better Business Bureau, and the Spokane Kootenai Real Estate Research Committee and as a citizen representative on the Steering Committee of Elected Officials. 

Throughout his career, he has worked with numerous industry leaders and staff to deliver programs and services that provide great benefit to the members of the Association.  Growing up at a family-owned lumber yard in North Idaho he understands the challenges facing small businesses and values the great people who build homes in our community.  A passionate advocate for the housing industry, he fights for the interests of Association members and their ability to provide attainable housing in communities throughout Northeastern Washington. 

He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs from Washington State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of Idaho.

Outside of managing the operations of the SHBA, Joel follows the Seattle Mariners, Washington State University athletics and enjoys spending time with his family and trips to their property in North Idaho.
