Dave Nielsen

Dave Nielsen has served as CEO of the Home Building Association of Greater Portland since 2002, leading one of the largest local trade associations in the region with more than 1,450 members. Under his leadership, the association has expanded its impact through strong government affairs, large consumer home shows, extensive educational and networking programs, and the development of for-profit subsidiaries and a related foundation.

With more than 30 years of experience in association management, Nielsen is recognized for transforming organizations, creating strategic partnerships, diversifying revenue, and increasing member engagement. He previously served as Executive Director of USFN – America’s Mortgage Banking Attorneys, where he helped launch and grow a national trade association.

A Fellow of the American Society of Association Executives, Nielsen holds dual bachelor’s degrees in marketing and computer information systems from Chapman University.
